John Emmett

Career Summary:

Like every boy in the UK, I have played football from the time that I was able to walk. I was fortunate to have played at county level and have had many trials with pro teams, but was not quite good enough. Despite this disappointment, I still loved and enjoyed playing the game. In my late teens and early 20's I played football at a reasonably high level before having to ease back due to an old hip injury. From then on I continued to play for local teams with the injury, all with differing success.

I started coaching youth soccer in 2006. I have coached in Australia and the UK regions. In Australia I coached under 5’s, 6’s and 7’s – Girls and boys. In the UK I coached at a mini-soccer school ages 4-6, and on top of this took a team from the mini soccer school up until U11’s.

I was the a board of the local football team as “Tournament orgainizer”, and ran an annual football tournament where over 150 teams attended from all around the region.

I have FA level 1 and level 2 coaching badges from UK, as well as FA youth development coaching badges level 1 and 2.

From my perspective, I enjoy the opportunity of training kids to play the game that I love and hope that my enthusiasm comes across. I like the kids to feel like they are empowered to express themselves yet not forget the important aspect of the “TEAM” – above all else, I like to make it fun.
